For parents / carers
If your child would like to study Computer Science at any level and at any age (KS2-KS4), we can support them. We offer TechCamps, MakerParty special events, CodeClubs, private tuition and full GCSE and A-level Computer Science courses.
Are you homeschooling? Don't miss out on I.T.
We offer group or individual GCSE and A-level courses.
- Tuition is online using Google Classroom and Google Meet (all sessions are recorded and available to you).
.
- For additional engagement we offer the opportunity for students to meet regularly at our very popular TechCamps. Camps are typically held during school holidays and there is the choice of being inside or actually camping!
The goal of techTeachersDirect is to enable our students to recognise a problem and have the confidence to attempt to solve it using their knowledge of technology and Computational Thinking.
We host TechCamps that are robust and challenging and MakerParties that are more fun focussed. Both have been designed over many years of experience in the classroom.
Why Tech Camps?
The UK has a proud history in the field of Computer Science. The first programmable machine was invented in the UK way back in the 1800's. After the War the Lyon's company became the first company in the World to use a computer commercially, named Leo and developed in Manchester.
As machines become increasingly intelligent and more jobs become displaced, it is critical that all students are equipped for this new 21st century work place.
Since 2009 Computer Science has become more important in UK schools and is now a mandatory subject in state schools.
Despite the importance of Computer Science to both students and the country as a whole, provision of quality Computer Science teaching is inconsistent, due mainly to a shortage of specialist Computer Science teachers.
techTeachersDirect is the brain child of two professional Computer Science teachers, Peter and Alastair, who want to use their many years of teaching experience to provide opportunities for any keen young Computer Scientist to develop their skills and enable them to succeed in their studies.
"My son really enjoyed attending the Easter tech camp..."
"My son really enjoyed attending the Easter tech camp. After the last day ended he said he was really sad he couldn't go the next day! He came back home every day buzzing about what he'd achieved and was really proud to show us too! He also loved meeting new friends and learning with others. I personally would thoroughly recommend them and my son is looking forward to hopefully attending in the Summer"

"I would highly recommend this camp..."
"My son attended the Easter Tech Camp and he really enjoyed it. All 3 days were fab, he learnt new stuff but day 3 was his 'cup of coffee'. Both teachers were brilliant and I would highly recommend this camp to any parents with children with an interest in computing and coding."
